Currently, Nathula Pass (Sikkim, India) is not open to ordinary tourists as an entry route to Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Foreign tourists entering Lhasa must use legally open ports (such as Kathmandu, Nepal), apply in advance for a Chinese visa, Tibet Travel Permit, and other documents, and enter via designated routes.
