About:Chengdu Trips
Chengdu to Emeishan in Day Trip
Hi,
I am from Hungary travelling independently.
I want to take a day trip from Chengdu to Emeishan in May 2025.
Can I do this in in one day?
I will take train leaving Chengdu East at 07.18Am & arrive Emeishan at 0845.
For return on same day, I would like to take Emeishan train leaving 19:44 pm & arrive Chengdu East 20.53pm.
What is the quickest way to see Emeishan including reaching the mountain peaks like Golden Summit.
Do I have to book the train trips in advance?
Is there discount train fares for foreigners above 65 years old?

A day trip is feasible. After arriving at Emeishan Railway Station, take the free shuttle bus to Huangwan Tourist Center, then transfer to a scenic area shuttle bus directly to Leidongping (about 2 hours), followed by a 3-minute cable car ride to the Golden Summit. Return downhill via the shuttle bus before 18:00. High-speed train tickets need to be booked in advance. Foreigners aged 65+ get free scenic area admission with a passport, but train tickets are full-price.
